That's what they were going for, at least it seemed that way to me anyways. The entire movie was ridiculous and over the top. I enjoyed the dialogue and pacing of the film a lot, they threw in a bunch of random tiny funny shit that had me chuckling throughout the film. Gosling kinda nailed it as the pseudointelectual douchenozzel. I uh know, the last time I saw a movie with that much witty and random humor that made me chuckle so much was Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. KKBB was better, but this was still a great flick imo. Loved the dream scene and then him trying to pull the ankle gun later, that was too perfect.
