Rewatched 2001: A space Odyssee

I read the novel last week and was blown away by the story, again. So I decided I need to watch the movie, again. Just unbelievable that the movie came out in 1968, visually stunning. A theatrical milestone that everyone needs to see.

Agreed. It's insane how they pulled those visuals off. And not just the visuals, the story telling and the whole movie... it still feels so fresh.

Especially the running scene with the rotating set blew me away. At my first viewing I just couldn't figure out how Kubrick pulled this one off. True cinema magic.

I highly recommend the novel by A. C. Clarke, it leaves you speechless and you just keep thinking about the story many days after you finished it. Mostly a direct adaptation of the movie but expands on the story and goes more in depth on critical plot points.

Of course it's just an optical trick, this one is just the opposite effect of spherical aberration we are normally shown and expected to believe.

Here's a cool film i just watched, classic noir.

Blast of Silence - 1961 [Film Film]

So you are telling me they haven't been in space to shoot this scene and they haven't used centrifugal force to a achieve simulated gravity at around 3-5 m/s²? Mind=Blown.

House of the Dead

Well Drum'n Base aged pretty well as far as the music goes. Obviously a horrible movie which I watched out of curiosity. Not more to say about it.

If It's Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium (1969)

I guess this is the 1960's version of Eurotrip (silly movie with gags and sterotypical humour about europeans, seen from the perspective of americans touring through Europe). It's not good and the humor is completely outdated. A few good moments here and there, but really boring for the most part.
