Details from an episode I seen two weeks ago when I watch several hours of shows daily aren't always that clear in my head.


He was obviously setting everything up, from the beginning of the episode even. To make them come to the generator room. Hoping to have some walkers kill a few of them off, separate them, and kill the remaining ones that come to the generator. Which he basically does perfectly, aside from getting himself killed. I found it pretty apparent all the events were apart of his scheme for revenge...

Unless he is somehow the smartest black man alive I highly doubt this...

the only other possibility is this:

- after being locked up in their prison section, axel and the white dude went and saved that other black guy. then they came up with the plan to take back the prison. then when it came down to it, axel decided that it was a better plan to kill him to try and gain Rick's trust.

I actually though it was brilliant acting on his part.
