not bad

that was one of the most pleasantly surprising movies ive seen in a while. i didnt know anything about it other than i guess there was some hype i didnt look into, downloaded it one day and wasnt expecting much, was glued to it from start to finished with the music blasting

Acting and dialogue was spot on, it didn't really had strong story line or anything like that but it was very enjoyable to watch 8/10

Nice idea movie. Easy to watch

Reasonably well made but such a dry theme though. Bashing the modeling industry for being shallow feels like beating a dead horse to me.

It's not about the substance, it's about the visual presentation and the mood. Nicolas Winding Refn isn't know for his deep and complex plots. Most of his movies are pretty straight forward. In my opinion his movies are an experience in which the viewer interprets the meaning of the "story".
Just my 2 cents. I hated Neon Demon after the initial viewing, but the movie grew on me and I think it's pretty good. Just an unique experience.

Well yeah but solid visuals and substance are not mutually exclusive. See Tarkovsky Neon Demon is cliché as shit but pretty nice looking and well acted so I thought it was a decent watch but I don't think Refn managed to pull off what he was going for with Neon Demon. He needs a better story or more interesting themes, I don't think he's good enough to go Terrence Malick mode.

Haha fair enough, I loved that theme, don't think iv seen any films like that
