Home Town Story (1951)

Lame and boring drama, which pretty much just coats an early cold war propaganda movie about the wonders of capitalism and why large and rich corporations make America great.

watched both guy ritchie sherlock's again on bluray. i love the 1st. 2nd is still ok

also new tarzan..... i wasn't impressed at all. i enjoyed skarsgard's performance but the cgi was shotty at parts and im not a fan of that margot robbie at all. sure shes hot, but pretty average acting talents imo. maybe just above

gonna throw on new independence day now. havent heard many good things so we'll see lol

also got ghostbusters (slim pickings this time of year, hence why i rewatched sherlocks)
and swiss army man on deck

Star Trek Beyond

Some stupid parts and the shaky cam realy sucks at the action scenes but I have to admit that I realy liked it. Good movie.

Deadpool (2016)

Not great, but fun. Better than most Marvel movies, but that's just probably due to the "originality" of turning making the super hero an anti-hero. It could have been a better movie imo. Over all I enjoyed it mostly because of the humour... even though most of the jokes are lame, there are so many of them that there's a bunch of funny ones, and some of the references and easter eggs are funny too. I also liked the breaking of the 4th wall, which I think was nicely done.

Spring Breakers! Played out kinda like: -Terrance Malick makes a parody of Jersey Shore-
Didn't like it that much, it could've easily been 30 min shorter. James Franco has tons of screen time but his character never evolves beyond the first 5 min.

This Island Earth

Don't know why so much people brand this as bad. I loved it.
The plot, altought dumb, was pretty interesting. They treated the science aspects respectfully. The costume and set design looked charming. And the acting was decent.
Enjoyable and charming Sci-Fi movie.

Watched Danish film Krigen which was nominated for an Oscar.

A really strong film made in the typically Danish style made famous by such directors as Bier and Vinterberg. Krigen was a complicated drama film which presents believable and highly sympathatic characters facing situations of moral ambiguity.
Has much more in common with Dogmefilms than American war films such as Platoon.

Highly recommended.
