It definetley has some mystical vibes like the Princess Bride, I agree on that, A Knight's Tale seems a bit off in comparison.

The Great Escape - don't know what to think of that one, I doesn't feel like I wasted 3h of my life, it has some enjoyable parts but in the end it nothing too special I guess. Cool Hand Luke and Papillion are better "Prison Escape" movies in my opinion.
At least now I know where the theme comes from, heard it in a lot of other movies ^^

I meant the romance/comedy is close to A Knight's Tale style imo, obviously not the magical setting :P

The 94' one? Man, that one is complete trash. Even as a big fan of JCVD I can't seem to get any enjoyment out of that turd.

Yeah it was horrible, insulting to the gaming charackters, cheesy references and bad action. You don't fire guns all the time in a fighting movie.
The only redeeeming factor were some one-liners, which were so bad that they made me laugh.

There are better movies in this category, Streetfighter is just bad.
Movies like The Room, Troll 2 and Samruai Cop are much better in comparison.
