I think it is more than that. I think he is just fucking psycho and will kill any other group just to get their supplies. he doesn't want new people in woodbury. he just wants to maintain the population and boost their supplies.

No, that's not the link he's making. In the comic, a group of national guard soldiers terrorize woodbury. Though it was before he became the leader of woodbury.

what? I don't remember that part in the books...when do the books talk about that? before rick's arrival or after rick's arrival? been quite a while since I read the comics (read books 1-16 earlier this year, still waiting for book 17 to come out lol).

Oops, not the comic. The novel, Rise of the Governor. Covers his back story. If you haven't read it, do it. It will help you understand the governor immensely.

I was thinking he killed them because he just wanted there supplys and didn't want them to try and take over till the end when the guys head was in the fish tank then I realized he didn't like em

Not enough mindless action to appease the simple masses. Where as those that tune in because of the drama and story development (millions) were and remain entertained.
I can't wait until the break in between the first half of the season and the second half of the season, the complaints from those that claim to hate the show while continuing to post about it or watch it, will be quite amusing. Will be 8 episodes, then a break, then the final 8 episodes.

This.

They have to develop the back story for the Governor so this episode had to be more story and less action. A good show isn't just blowing out zombie brains every episode.
