gg - nice movies. that one scene in carraldo is eeeepic (liked the others too)
herz is kinda pretty solid director

Angry birds. 2/10, would be 0/10 but the animation was good.

It feels like everyone involved with this movie has never made a movie before. Nothing in it made sense, character development was all over the place and the plot was either absurd or extremely sick depending on how the writers wanted to be interpreted.

Also I have no idea who the target audience is, it is way too stupid for adults but way too adult for children.

The only clever part of the movie was the satirical representation of America, but I'm pretty sure that was a complete accident...

the whole plot of lifting the ship over the mountain felt like physical exercise. great movie and very interesting audio comment with herzog and straub.

bought a dvd box and never watched any of his films. great stuff, especially the movies with klaus kinski.

Cobra Verde - Ok, not as good as his other films.
Lebenszeichen - pretty good considering it's his first feature. great atmosphere.

Going to watch "Mein liebster Feind" today, I'm fascinated by Herzog/Kinski and the work they did together. .

damn he's got plenty of nice and pretty good movies

Yeah, looking forward to seeing it. "My best Fiend" is also incredible and worth watching.

Solaris (1972) - Disappointing

How so?

My first Andrei Tarkovsky and I had realy high expectations.
You understand the plot after 60 mins.. The intentions of the filmmaker and the philosophical questions embedded in it.
After that point the movie goes on for another 100 mins. in which you don't get much more exposition, everything revolves aound the "couple".
I missed the depth of the plot, or maybe I was just unable to see it after the first hour of this movie.

Although I have to admit I watched it on a DVD with incredible bad audio and video quality, maybe I have to give it another shot with a better format.

ye should be watched in highest possible quality but atleast offret, stalker, mirror and andrey rublyov are better and ivan's childhood and nostalghia really good iirc imo (tho remember really liking solaris too its indoor parts had a much more sense of kitsch or smtn
