10 Cloverfield Lane, pretty decent, the ending was horrible and totally misplaced.

The ending could have been handled better but it made the entire movie.

You go between thinking the man is insane to thinking he is right to thinking he is insane so much, and the two characters think he is insane which leads them to death and destruction only to find out that he was right so along.

The ending was the most important part.

originally the movie had nothing to do with monsters or cloverfield. paramount had this movie on hold and they shot a few scenes early 2015 so that they could put the name cloverfield on it.

in my opinion this wasn't necesarry, it's a strong character driven thriller which could have ended at the escape scene. give me something to think about and reflect on it, don't shove it down my throat.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that the ending ruined the movie but it definetly didn't add anything to it and felt misplaced.

Originally the movie is exactly how it was, just under a different name. The only thing that changed was the name so it would be easier to market.

The ending was poorly executed but pretty important to the overall message of the story imo.

It's just a cash grab, I'm fine with it since the start and the middle part are pretty decent.

Like I said, the name was changed so it would be easier to market. The ending showing us that Goodman was telling the truth about the end of the world is the important part. Doesn't matter why the world ended, that isn't what the movie is about, it only hammers home the lesson.

It isn't like they changed it from the world not ending to it actually ending, that would have completely changed the message of the movie. It was silly to turn the girl into the doomguy at the end but meh it's only like 3 minutes of the movie and that scene is probably what got it funded for release so...

Overall nothing actually changed, except for the name for marketing reasons.

El verdugo (aka The Executioner) (1963)

Spanish cult movie from the 1960s. A dark comedy by Berlanga, who to many people here is our greatest director ever. I enjoyed the movie, but I think it's a bit overrated. Some bits of dialogue are brilliant, and it's a good satirical portrait of spanish society under Franco's dictatorship and a shoutout against death penalty... but it didn't really live up to my expectations.



*Daniels... not sure what I was thinking, I guess having Edmund Goulding on my mind made me think of Bette Davis

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, was up on television, pretty dumb but enjoyable to watch.

Ninja turtles out if the shadows.
