Spotlight.
It's more like a self-congratulatory pat on the back and applause of those investigative journalists who partook in the denuding of pedophilia in the Catholic Church. Other than that, it's a rather unremarkable and forgettable film that offers nothing in the way of any depth. There is no care taken in fleshing out any of the characters. Instead of asking why pedophilia is so rampant in the church, it merely functions as an investigative journalist procedural film.
Mediocre.
This is what they aimed for, just an acknowledgement for the work of journalists. I think it was good and liked the neutral style but surely not the best picture in 2015.
Hail, Cesar! - 5/10 a fun ride but nothing special, a love letter for the golden ages of filmmaking
Inherent Vice - 6/10 Phoenix is great and this movie has hilarious parts, other than that it's a confusing mess
Where to invade next - 4/10 in Michael Moores world everything is black and white but who doesn't like some Murrica bashing.
