I thought it was pretty obvious that Daemon couldn't fuck her because of the inner conflict of his love for her and his want to be on the throne someday. He was using her as a political move and in the end he backed out because he couldn't bring himself mentally to do it. He wants to be on the throne but he loves his brother and niece.

the director straight up said he would have but couldnt get hard. but i agree with your take, same as mine.

I mean yeah he couldn't get hard but it wasn't because he has ED. He just couldn't bring himself to use his niece as a sexual pawn. They are doing a pretty good job showing how mentally damaged he is but also how he isn't completely evil. So far he has done heinous things but all of them serve a purpose and aren't Joffrey moments of being evil just because it is fun.

i agree that's my take-away. the writers, directors, and showrunner seems to disagree. and think he has some sort of literal ED, likely tied to his need to be dominating or sadistic to get hard.

My favorite angle of the show so far is that Daemon is clearly autistic. Smart enough to call the king out when he is obviously wrong but then spergs out and does retarded shit that completely griefs himself out of being king. Pretty pog theyre being so inclusive.

The most impressive part of this week was seeing how Criston and Rhaenyra were on such different pages.

He was basically living out the Scarlet Letter, racked with guilt over breaking his vow to the point that it's crippling him. His only longshot to redeem himself is to run away and marry the woman he broke his vow with. But when he proposes that they escape their sin together, he's in for a rude awakening.

Not only does she feel no shame in what happened, she like it enough to suggest that it becomes a regular thing. She wants him at her beckon call so he can re-break that vow whenever she's in the mood.

The pacing is so good here. They did so much development in a relatively short amount of screen time.

This show doesn’t feel right. It doesn’t feel like a ASOIAF/GoT adaption. It feels like a cringey teenage drama. Like the OC, but medieval times with a hint of fantasy. Really enjoyed it at first but I pretty much hate all the characters so far :( I’ll keep watching with the hope it improves, not really liking where it’s heading though.

Brilliant episode, this is top level television.

Every character is compelling and well written, the tension bordering unbearable and so much sinister subterfuge going on at every level.

Larys Strong is already artfully stirring up conflict.
