Stumbled upon a few reviews of the show, comment pretty much sums them all. Critics say that the season two is a major failure and this time i tend to agree with them.
First season had an old Twin Peaks spirit, second season has Collin Farrell and a good opening song. Thats literally it
A few reviews? You mean the only few reviews out of thousands who think it's anything other than fantastic? I didn't expect this season to surpass season 1, I don't know if anyone did, season 1 was fucking glorious. Regardless, the plot is engaging, the character development has been fantastic and the acting has been top notch from everyone. It's a damn good show and I'm hoping that they keep this model of a new cast/story each and every season. It'll keep it from getting stale, which 99.99% of shows do around seasons 4-6. I've heard a few complaints who have thought it was too confusing or that the plot was too convoluted, I just personally disagree, it's been incredibly easy to follow and I've felt engaged the whole time. I don't give a fuck about 90% of the case, and that could be a problem, but we'll see how everyone develops. I've got nothing but faith in this show.
You're entitled to your own opinion of course, it's just a stupid opinion. This is by far the best show on TV right now. Season 1 of True Detective, is probably the best show I've ever seen for it's genre. You could say I'm blinded by bias due to how much I loved the first season, but it'd be the exact opposite. I'm much more critical of sequels, changes in cast ect... when it's something that I already thought was perfect.
