I agree that no one was 'very likeable' but I don't really see how that is a criticism. The audience having to wrestle with whether they liked or disliked Walter White was one of the things that made BB great.
I feel like this season was on par with the first season of BB. We have seen the necessary character and plot development in order to make it a great series. Hopefully we get deeper in the Nacho plotline, Gus will show up and things can really take off.
There was a dynamic shift with WW. You felt for him, pitied him, even suffered with him as he went through all this shit to do right by his family. Eventually, WW became more focused on what he had created and it became about him, not his family. It didn't start that way though, that's why you could identify and feel with the character and that's what started the struggle of still trying to defend this man who had obviously drifted into territory he couldn't come back from. Saul has been unethical since the start, you get to see a little more into why he said fuck it now but I just don't care. The guy is scum and the only even somewhat interesting person in the show has been mike.
It's entertaining and I'll keep watching it, it's just not a great show, it's got none of the power behind it that BB did, not even close.
The characters are predictable, the plot has been predictable (especially the Chuck thing) and the season finale was very lack luster. I understand that it's building and I'm sure it'll get more exciting, it's just hard to get into a show when the only somewhat likable character is already dead in the future and you know exactly how it unfolds. I feel like people are just latching onto this because it's helping fill that void that BB left when it finished. It's not BB though, it so far hasn't even showed a glimmer of how great BB was and I doubt this show on its own merit with how it's been this season, would even make it to three seasons.
