The Barefoot Contessa (1954)
I knew I wouldn't go wrong with this film as I enjoy Makiewicz's movies. Good movie; the dialogues are great for the most part and Humphrey Bogart, Ava Gardner and Edmund O'Brien's performances are very solid.
There are however some akwardly unrealistic things that stop this movie from being as great as it could be (some settings, the way some of the scenes develop, the inevitable way Ava's character speaks more fluently in english than in her native spanish, etc.), and at some points the movie feels too dependant on Bogart's role (the film's worst moments come during the phases when his character's role diminishes).
