Edge of Tomorrow - I thought it was pretty entertaining for a Tom Cruise movie.

Oblivion - Eh. Mediocre at best

Star Trek: Into Darkness - Ehh. Never was a Star Trek fan, this movie didn't sway me either.

The Thing (1982) - Pretty good for it's time probably, but the effects are so dated and the movie relies too heavily on them.

I think you're way off, movie relies on suspense created by the notion that anyone of them might be infected at any time.

It's a genious timeless concept!

Felt like it was over too quickly for it to be really suspenseful (if that makes sense). The Thing itself is shown too much for my taste as well.

Not saying it's a bad movie at all, just didn't draw me in, I suppose.

I agree The Thing gets too much screentime, the most powerful scenes in my book are the ones where everyone is panicing because they know The Thing is present but won't reveal itself, the actual threat of something horrible is scarier than the horror itself

This movie is very similar to Agatha Christies novel "And then there was none" ten people stuck together on an island, people dying and it's obvious to everyone that the killer has to be a member of the original group.

The Paranoia and suspicion is the great element in both pieces for me.

The Giver, pretty good movie, although a little slow.
