how long do you think gaslines would stay on in a zombie apocolypse type world? How many people need to be on the job running those things?
Well depending on there stove. No one knows if it's a gas stove or electric and who knows what he used in the generator could be a diesel generator. Which diesel is pretty easy to make.

i meant the gas that powers your stoves. how long until those gaslines get cut off and you wish you had an electric stove and a generator
Some farms though have those old cooking stoves that are ran by firewood so those would actually be best to have or even a cooking grill or fire pit outside would work.

If you have someone with the knowledge to change over your local gas lines to a large outdoor propane tank you'll be set. Would require possibly modifying your furnace/stove/hot water tank to run on propane rather than natural gas. But you can find big ass propane tanks anywhere in rural areas. And with no one using it, you are set.
This is actually pretty easy to do to switch from gas to propane. I use to work for a company installing different kind of stoves few years back.

Or you know...since everyone's dead, pick any house you like and live there.
That isn't always the best thing to do. People could come back if there still alive or people they know. Best thing would be to find a place out in the middle of no where but kinda close to town.
