They have the tank. The testing on children. The fail probe that doesn't penetrate her skull but still gives readings. So many similarities to fringe it's not even funny.

The show is nothing like fringe, and it copies so many other thing way more obviously that bringing up some random shit show is just pointless.

Plus if you think fringe invented experimenting on children, sensory deprivation or anything else then you're delusional.

Probably 7/10 for me.

Watched it all in one day.

Did not like the bath scenes where Eleven was walking on the thin layer of water in an all black background. This was super reminiscent of Scar Jo in Under the Skin when she would kill her "John's".

Kinda feels like season 2 will be a bit limited... but will probably still be alright.

Finishd it yesterday, show was ok. Felt like a reference trip through all spielber, king and carpenter movies, best thing was the carpenter-synthie-soundtrack.
I will skip season 2 though, not interested in watching more of it.

Whys that? All the references where intentional.

I agree the synth soundtrack was BOMB

of course they were intentional but it kept the show from having an own identity.
watching it it felt like:"yeah this is from that movie... that's a reference to under the skin...this feels like that... etc."

Didn't metion that the show is bad but I don't think it's a masterpiece like everyone else thinks it is.

Sometimes you have to separate shows/movies from the existence of others and treat it as its own individual. The show fits within a certain genre, yes, and while it shares many similarities within that genre, as it should, it's still plenty unique.

In other words, how does this show fare on its own, without thinking about other shows/movies similar to it.


We can't always criticize shows/movies like what I said above, but it's certainly a different perspective and giving it its own fair criticism.
