Holy Motors (2012)
It seems like I can't give this movie an honest rating. I'm going to try my best regardless. Looks like the character is jumping in and out of movie roles, but there is no semblance of a plot here. It's kind of art house, but it's also pretty absurd, interesting, and careless.. As opposed to boring, melodramatic, and up its own ass like a normal art house movie.
7.5/10 or maybe 8.5/10 I'm going to watch it again at some point. This one needs a revisit.. It's just so thought provoking, and there is clearly something to take away from this movie. My personal opinion? I think it has something to do with the death of cinema. It's as if the movie is insisting you ignore the line between reality, and narrative, you have to feel/live vicariously through the characters to understand it. That's the only way to truly enjoy film, and it's somehow been lost. Whatever.. I'm pontificating now.
