But you can't ever expect that same "vibe". Especially when they are telling two COMPLETELY differently stories, which are apparently not connected at all. So, why is it even a good thing to try and compare it to s1? God, I almost wish they would have renamed this season, just so I can stop hearing that excuse of it not being as good or as memorable as s1. And this is coming from someone who loves s1 more than most things. I have a $#@!ing TD tattoo from s1 for christ sake lol. But, I get it. I can almost guarantee, if this show was called ANYTHING else, it wouldn't be getting the hate it's getting. I don't care either way. I love s2.
P.S. - Rachel McAdams being a strong female lead and Colin Farrell having a more caring side, should not merit your stereotypical response of gender roles. Enjoy the show and the characters as they are. Not as the world tells you how they "should be"...
P.P.S. - The sub-plots in this show are what I live for...
I'm not saying that it has to be the same as season 1 but the impact should be the same. They're trying to do the same things as season 1 it's just not as impactful, the characters aren't as likable, and it's no longer exciting to me.
The creepy dark theme is still there in some ways they're just no executing with it and as a result it's just a cop drama right now, not even as much a detective drama.
And the reverse gender roles aren't just between Farrell and McAdams... how about Taylor Kitsch whose gay lol. They're trying way too hard to be politically correct in ways, not every show needs a main character to be gay. A fourth of the population isn't gay so it doesn't need to be portrayed like that.
Even Vince is femmy in ways.
Do you notice that even you are using they're real names instead of their character names. After all these episodes I barely know their names still.
