These Christmas movies airing on the Hallmark channel during Thanksgiving week. Some of them are okay. Some new, some old. I haven't seen most of them.

The Godfather: Part II

This was my first time watching it, and I didn't have subtitles for any of the Italian parts. I ended up looking up the script to use whenever they weren't speaking English.

I really liked it, I'm going to watch Part III soon, but first I need to find a version with subtitles....

Two Lovers -- 2008

Very good romantic drama. I think there is a heavy Woody Allen influence here except the film didn't go for any humor whatsoever. It does a good job portraying the pursuit of an impossible love/relationship versus the temptation of an easier relationship that doesn't shake up your environment (i.e. one supported by your family). I really felt for Phoenix's character by the end of it and was left more or less unsatisfied with the conclusion of the movie but somehow I think the point was to leave you feeling like that.
