Not really. It would only feed his inner darkness and make him a MUCH bigger threat than Dean ever was.

He doesn't have inner darkness, his inner goodness/control is so strong he stayed human when a demon was trying to taint him and he was able to overpower Lucifer for control of his body. He is A LOT stronger than Dean.

Baby was the reason why he was able to overpower Lucifer for control. All the memories helped him. Not his inner goodness or control. That surge in emotion is what gave him a chance to wrestle free for a few moments. There's a reason why Chuck referred to baby as the most important object in the universe. Sam was stronger due to the changes from the demon blood and his inner power developed from being fed demon blood from the crib, but he's been cleansed so he's pretty much on equal footing with dean now.

As for people complaining about Amara being more powerful. Did you miss the part about how God originally intended to just lose to her? he didn't fight back. He couldn't go through with it.

Just because we noticed it doesn't mean the writing for this episode wasn't God awful.
