Saw these two today.

Lawless -- I really loved the subject matter (bootlegging) and thought the fact that it was a true story made the movie much more interesting. Without spoiling anything I'll just say that certain details are outright incredible. Acting was good, there was plenty of violence to go around and I was entertained throughout. Tom Hardy is one intimidating son of a bitch.

Collateral -- Quality action/thriller movie that is extremely polished and utilizes a ton of coincidences/cliches you've seen tons of times. That said, I liked the dynamic between Foxx and Cruise and really liked the setting of Los Angeles. Nice little critique of big city life thrown into the mix, as well. I recommend it but it isn't particularly original or significant.

The Master -- the cinematography, acting, score, etc. are all very good but the story is seriously lacking. This one is also a textbook example of an anti-climax as the story needlessly drags on and on and on without adding a whole lot to the message of the story or even giving you a concrete conclusion at the end. Worth watching simply for the performances of Phoenix and Hoffman, however.
