Anatomy of a Murder -- 3.5 // 5.0

Let's see, I loved the acting, Jimmy Stewart and George C. Scott were awesome and I loved the back-and-forth they had in the court room scenes. Story-wise I wasn't too impressed, to be honest, I just thought the dynamic in the court scenes was very good. The music was by Duke Ellington and I felt it was great (as was his cameo in the film) but I felt the music was out of place. There was a recurring "jazz" theme, if that makes any sense, and it seemed to be contrary to a courtroom/intensely legal setting. I guess there may be an observation to make about improvisation and how it is present in jazz and seemed to be present in the courtroom, as well, as Stewart and C. Scott seemed to be improvising back and forth.

Recommended, overall.
