I replayed part 1 between episodes 2 and 3 and just got to the part in part 2 where you switch from Ellie to Abby. It's all fantastic and seeing the show crumble after having such a promising start is kind of depressing.

1 mediocre episode = the show crumbling :rofl:

the show not being a 1:1 copy of the game is fine. I don't think this episode was great but you guys are overreacting

The actor for Ellie is completely monotone, and her character is written completely wrong. She is missing all of the core elements of the character. I'm not sure if I said it here but I was hesitant about her from the very beginning, but willing to give them time to develop her, and they developed her horribly

And it's not that it's one bad episode it's that they decided to take important and extremely well written scenes and change them for no fucking reason. And I'm not talking about things that were changed/removed for pacing issues I'm talking about almost 1:1 scene recreations which are changed for no apparent reason to just be objectively worse.

I didn't say it had to be exactly the same now did I? In fact I said I understand needing to make changes, but those changes shouldn't be objectively worse, unnecessary and completely change characters core personality and values.

It's a shame that they deviated from the game so much cuz as someone that never played them at all the show is pretty dope so far.

Yeah that's how I feel. No expectations previously set up.

It's the same with adaptations from books, if you're passionate about the book you notice every deviation and ask why they would do that.
