The first thirty minutes pulled me in. It seemed like they were really building towards something spectacular there with the whole "groundhog day" type theme of Neo reliving the same thing over and over. The minute they introduced trying to break him out it somehow went South immediately. The actor choices weren't great, the story really didn't make much sense to me, and the action and CGI was not even on par with the previous moves that are so much older. It just felt as though they had a great concept and then completely shit the bed on the delivery.

The only movie I've seen lately that I believe has been worse than this was Space Jam 2, they just spent the better part of two hours stroking Lebron James for whatever reason.

There are so many obvious things that they choked on, and aside from Trinity’s “I’m a Neo too now” complete fucking nonsense, they could have at least appealed to a broader audience with better casting and choreographing just a handful of decent fight scenes.

Also, who the fuck gave the okay for “swarm mode”. So guys, we know one of the coolest things in the original movies was agents and their battles with Neo, but hear me out, instead of doing that, what if we basically did zombies that don’t do anything ever throughout the entire movie? Like… the fuck?

Aside from the Trinity nonsense, what are you even talking about? The director being trans? There's a fucking mountain of things to take issue with in this film, yet you land on the one that doesn't even exist... Says a lot more about you and people who think like you, than it does about the film or even the film industry.

It just felt like they had no real direction to me and tried to pivot off nostalgia repeatedly to see which stories stuck.

Honestly, that could have worked if the rest of the movie didn't blow. It would have been stupid regardless, but the audience can stomach a lackluster ending, if the ride is at least entertaining. I did call this though before the movie came out. I said the movie would suck or be mediocre at best, but simple-minded people would lose their shit about leftism, while ignoring the actual faults of the film. I personally get a good laugh out of how predictable and stupid people like him can be.

At least we won't have to see them butcher this series anymore, I think chances of a reboot or continuation have to be shot after this shit show.
