That's your opinion. IMO gotg was better than all of them with x men a close second

I liked Guardians, don't get me wrong but there wasn't anything special about besides having a few good laughs.

Marvel movies have always had humor and action, but guardians had much humor and not as good action.

Guardians was done more faithfully to the comics that any other marvel movie. The fact that they were able to get the exact tone of the comic replicated almost perfectly in the movie is, quite frankly, pretty astounding.

Indeed it was. Went into thinking "this is gonna suck ass" came out of "holy fuck, how did that just happen?!"

That's because it's 98% cgi and ugly as fuck. It was honestly hard to watch at times. I don't know if I am just an old man hating on cgi... but I fucking tried. It was hard to stomach.

Talks about tone (which includes stuff like character development+character interaction+plot points) --> get replied that it was all because of cgi

Logic.

Also the CGI wasn't bad by any means, it was very very well done actually. Most other marvel movies have much worse CGI.

Haha sorry. I just had some pent-up frustration with the film.

I think I just shouldn't try to watch comic book movies anymore or something. I guess it was done well but it still looks bad to me. The cgi in Fury Road pissed me off too, and that probably looked twice as good as GotG.

The cgi in fury road? That movie was like 90% practical. You really won't find an action/scifi movie with less cgi than fury road these days.

Personally I'm fine with cgi if it helps tell the story (increasing the crowd sizes in fury road for example) and not just overused as a cheap replacement for practical (epis 1-3 for example).
