Well they always go for a big twist at the end of an episode. In this case it wasn't really surprising, but a lot of interesting developments went down nonetheless.

I have to admit I'm getting a little turned off by how disjointed things can be. It feels like they use the unreliable narrator tactic to get away with whatever they want and don't always need to explain it later. I'd rather have less of it, then have each instance be more connected or symbolic clues that relate to the overall direction of the show.

Mr. Robot is obviously alive and his dad since doors don't knock themselves.

I'm kinda leaning towards:

Eliot's schizophrenia took the story of how Angela's Mom died and falsely applied that to his own dad. Since then, his dad and sister have been trying to stay in contact with him, while knowing that they can't really connect.

I think his dad is dead and his broken mind has fight club'd it.

That was my early thought as well. People pointed out earlier in the thread how all the dad's dialogue/actions were directed at Eliot.

But the scene where the dad got into Tyrell's car kinda threw a wrench into that theory. It doesn't rule it out, but now the show has to go an extra step to explain how Eliot is fightclubbing scenes he wasn't present for.

He could easily picture himself as his father, look at what he does with evil corp

If you remember one of the scenes where Tyrell gets home and he's talking with his wife, having a breakdown he mentions some unnoticed tech a.k.a Elliot at the end of the episode and how he needs to serve a higher purpose...God. Before that though he had his father in the limo so in a way i thing the director is hinting that this is kind of fight club scenario.

edit: I don't know though i seen the trailer for the next episode and his father is in it so it's unclear at this point.
