Aw yeah. Well with Sanderson it was kind of understandable, as he was literally finishing up a dead guy's stories, so you had to forgive him for some rushed stuff (and his awful Mat). But I actually really like the Sanderson end to that series. He did much better than I expected. GoT I still like, but the whole plot to kidnap a zombie still makes no sense, and ended up a disaster, and you just know it was written to create some action sequences for tv (that were admittedly pretty great)... but it still made zero sense, and sort of betrayed the story so far. Like everyone suddenly risking their lives on the belief that Cersei is a rational human being. Something literally everyone knows is wrong, but chose to forget I guess.
Agree 100% , I liked the finish of wot. It was obvious Jordans spiderwebs of story was spiralling out of control and the finish was complete and in character just without 12 new characters introduced per book.
got script is written by TV producers with no where near the imagination or ability of a writer like Sanderson. And I believe they wrote themselves into some corners earlier like merging Sansa with jeyne Poole/ over playing Ramsays character , and leaving Jamie in kings landing far too long. These things added to the story in previous seasons but now there's really only 3 locations to focus on so they can't just cut to what's happening somewhere else till next episode.
They had to invent a new reason for Jamie to abandon cersei since they choose not to do it over her trial. I agree a plot to capture a walker and then walk into kings landing without cersei killing them is ridiculous and completely out of character for her. I hope the book has a more realistic way of giving nk a dragon.
