I don't think Daryl would even want to.

Honestly, I knew Dale was going to die when he was talking to Shane. He was all like, "you aren't going anywhere and I am not going anywhere so lets settle this like men." I was like, well one of them is dying this episode..and it wont be Shane.

How much of a role does Daryl play in the books? He's a fan favourite for sure

More in the way of doing, not thinking. Rick's too softhearted, he does way too much thinking, he has to take more control, instead of Shane going behind his back.
I don't agree with Shane, at all. I just wanna see Rick, do something that takes the group forward, hopefully in this next episode we see some better way of them bringing
everyone together.

Its funny how you think Rick doesn't act enough, he has made pleanty of snap decisions in the show. I don't know why you are using TOUGH situations where they actually have TIME to think about them as ammo against Rick, honestly THINKING about the things that he does think about is the right choice for a leader.
