The only thing that pisses me off is the lack of white walker coverage in the beginning, don't know why they chose to only have a few sounds of the battle and not show anything unless the plan on a full out showdown later in the season. Oh and samwell's fight being removed. Other than that the season has been developing great.

The most obvious thing to comment on is Melisandre going after Gendry's blood. It looks like he will just be taking over the role of Eadric Storm. I guess it makes sense to reuse an existing character for that role instead of having to introduce a new one, but they might be backing themselves into a corner if GRRM had an essential role for Gendry to play later on (which most readers think was the case).

If Gendry's part plays out the same way as Edric Storm's, he will have the opportunity to rejoin the brotherhood and do whatever it is he needs to do later. However, I find it strange that they insisted on having Melisandre say "we will meet again" to Arya. Did they get some insider info from GRRM, to say such a thing with such confidence? Maybe she'll meet Nymeria.

Another obvious thing to comment on is Ygritte telling Jon that she knows his secret, and him not denying it. I think that's an added detail, and I find it very strange considering that I don't think her book character would have forgiven him for that. Is that going to change the sequence of events between her and Jon?

I saw an interview with GRRM where he said he has told the show's producers some details about the ending of the series.

my friend said that this season should be action packed since it was in the books, and last season he said the battle at kings landing was way longer in the books. from what i understand they just drag dialogue out as long as possible and cut the action down. also if its not meant to be action packed why was the first season loaded with action? also the end for the second season, all the white walkers going towards the wall, and we have seen them for what, a grand total of 5 minutes this season? i just dont get it

That's not true at all. They cut both things at an equal rate. If the book was 98% drama and 2% action, then they cut a lot from both and the show ends up being 98% drama and 2% action (but of course with much less content overall since much was removed).

Game of Thrones is a drama, plain and simple. Action exists only where it needs to exist in order to fulfill the need to build or resolve the drama the characters are experiencing.

1. Sam The Slayer
Someone said Sam hasn't killed a Walker yet. Well i'd be he does, why else would they make a point of showing him with his dragonglass dagger? Sam the Slayer he will be.

2. Action series vs Drama series
The series is about action, but the way the TV show is doing it is off from the books. They're taking more view points and putting them in one season than they should. If they narrowed it down you'd have more action, but later on you might be more confused as to why various things are happening. The series is as much about action as it is about drama. Actually, I prefer the drama, the plots that grow. Thats what makes the series amazing.

3. Sansa's Jonquille
If that was Petyr Baelish's ship heading off to the Vale, then maybe this is where ser Dontos is re introduced to the series?

4. The Wall Defends Itself
I thought I remembered there being more wildlings that scale the wall, looks like its just Tormund, the Worg, Ygritte and The Bastard.

If you go back to the scene when they're at the top of the wall I believe there are other wildlings you can see in the distant background reaching the top as well.

I dunno if the ship was sailing off it was kind of an awkward position. I thought it was Petyrs ship just sitting in th*** waiting for him to leave for the Vale and take Sansa along. Personally I can't imagine Dontos coming back. It feels like they have too many characters for the viewers to handle so I could definitely see the drunk being left out.

random thought: I thought Sam's scene was pretty awful. There hasn't been a single piece of acting I didn't like until that scene. Both actors were just brutal imo.

Ok, I'm trying not to make a big deal out of this... But, during last episode when some dude was describing fabric he used the phrase "French sleeves". What am I missing here? Is the country of France relatively close to King's Landing?

Yeah I didn't notice until I saw a facebook post on the fan page say "did Loras say french sleeves?" Then I skipped back to the scene I realized it was fringe.
