I wonder how/if the rating metrics take into account how many viewers are watching each television that is tuned in.

For example, 1 million tvs being tuned to Rick and Morty probably translates to 1.1 million people watching the broadcast.

But since many more people watch GOT in groups, 1 million tvs being tuned to HBO at 9pm on Sunday probably means 3 million viewers at that time.

Interesting theory. If things start going really well for Dany's side maybe they do throw in this twist to even it up again. However it would be kind of weird after all these years of developing Tyrion's character, we know that he's a "good" guy.

Although I don't really understand why Tyrion is upset with Jon and Dany being together?

And what was the Hound talking about when he was telling the Mountain that something/someone is coming for him?

I'm not 100% sold that "upset" is the emotion that would best describe his reaction. It could have been a mix of things. He certainly understands the ramifications that their relationship would have on the situation. One theory being floated on the interweb right now is that after the camera cut away from Tyrion/Cersei's conversation, he offered to arrange a marriage between Cersei's unborn son and Dany. Jon being with Dany could be troublesome for that.

ratings mean shit, if u read the book and then u watch season 7 and on ward. the way they talk/word they use can be summarize as garbage, but again I can expect hbo scrub writer or in fact any one in the world today can top martin writing. so I get over this fact for a while now. long as they dont fuck up the main plot aka night king I'm cool.

Strange theory. Dany would already be around 20 years-old at least in the story and she would never agree to that even if they were of similar age, and Cersei knows she would never agree to that (although it doesn't really matter since Cersei lied about the truce anyway).

Interesting either way.

The Metacritic ratings for this season aren't even that much lower than the first season....a season with GRRM writing...
