The whole fever dream was part hallucination part supernatural event. The island has magic, so it makes sense.

He beat him before, didn't seem that unusual to me.

was this back in season 1?

What a great episode. Surely can't be oliver's son in the grave he's supposed to have a bright future.

No idea who's it's gonna be.

Just watched the latest episode, by far the worst one of the series.

By no means should Oliver have beaten Malcolm so easily. Retarded as fuck.

I looked at it more of showing how much oliver has grown as a fighter. He was able to be r'as who has easily beaten malcolm before.
He trained with Malcolm, so he knows most of his moves. He trained with r'as and got even better. Malcolm has also changed quite a bit in his character from when he was the main antagonist.
The whole fight he was on the defensive and not actually fighting like he usually does, probably because he didn't want to kill oliver (that would really piss off thea)
The old malcolm would've killed oliver in a heartbeat.

Honestly I thought the fight was staged which is why Oliver won so easily... and then Oliver cut off Malcolm's hand...

Just appeared to me as a pacing issue, something that is a common occurrence on these shows. But not something I really focus on.
Reddit theory is they had to shrink the fight scene to make room for the drama with felcity and her dad, heh.

I thought they had a plan even after the hand was cut off, then Malcolm threatened him and threw that idea out the window.

Fight was bogus... even with Oliver training and once beating Malcolm doesn't account for the useless fight
Malcolm even portrayed.

Decent episode.

I would have thought it was decent too, but that fight completely ruined it for me. Malcolm has no problem killing Oliver so it's not as if he was holding back.

Just a very poorly written scene.
