dnd didn't spawn all computer games just a lot of rpg ecs games maybe, all computer games came from all games/aspects of life...

Here's a funny story for you... Space invaders... basically the first computerised game created for the public... Arcade gaming. Tolkien wrote some nice books, and
then came about D&D gaming in a written form and the use of imagination... arcade and other computing gamers wanted to build on this, so, basically the RPG system
was born and so on and so on.

if you didn't have poker you wouldn't have computer game for it, same with sports games, war games etc etc anything you can think of doing in real life you can probably do some sort of simulation in one computer game or another

Space invaders came out before dnd... don't you get it? Space invaders was practically the first ever computerised game out, if it did not come out, then we wouldn't have computer games.

yea imo overall sc1 was better but each to their own, like i said it gave birth to the custom games but i wouldnt say without it thered be no dota is a bit too far imo.

Well sc1 had exactly 1 ums map (aos) that inspired the original dota maker, I doubt he would have made dota without it. And every single similar game type spawned off of dota after it became popular.

E: and I mean it is not like I'm saying there would be no fps without wolfenstein, fps is very similar to real life obviously it would have been made at some point, but the dota game type is pretty different from anything. It is hard to imagine someone else randomly coming up with the idea.
