Apparently. Misread what you wrote, that one is on me. It's late, my bad.

I still think it's idiotic to start a universe after the death of Superman's archrival without even going into it.... How do you kill off a character's most iconic villain with no explanation?

DC just fails miserably at storytelling. They haven't made an above average movie since 2008 and that's only because Nolan is one of the best directors of our generation. Even though he did drop the ball a little with Rises. I just don't get why no one is bothered by a scattered, inconsistent and just a bland plot.

Movie sucked.

I don't think it was a good idea to fuck up lex, but as a huge DC fan I can say the movie delivered. The DC animated film universe is so much better than anything marvel has done, and that is because they really closely follow the comics. I wish they would just use the source material for the live action.

But I also think most people missed a lot in BvS that made the movie make a lot of sense because they prejudged it before actually seeing it.

That's what irritates me the most though. DC is far superior when it comes to animated film/tv etc... always have been imo, the only Marvel one that even compared for me as a kid was X-Men. But that's the thing, they do this amazing shit by sticking to the source material, creating great heroes and villains with great depth, and then they do this... they spend the most money on a film ever and they're way too concerned with creating epic CGI spectacles and advertising for the Justice League, instead of just creating a solid movie that doesn't heavily rely on gimmicks. Just frustrating. I've loved DC and Marvel since I was a kid, they've both had different aspects that greatly appealed to me. Even as a kid, DC wasn't afraid to go dark, the Batman animated series had some pretty dark stuff in it for a Y-7 show, their films (V, Watchmen, Dark Knight) have all been dark and gritty without relying on huge CGI spectacles to carry the film 70% of the time. Just seems lazy to me. I know Marvel is guilty of the same shit, that's why over half the movies they've done have been garbage. If these companies would wait until after the movie to advertise for the next movie, that'd be fucking great and I think it'd help a lot.

When I watch a movie the source material means absolutely nothing to me (except when it's based on a true story)
I tend to judge purely based on itself

I just want a smooth flowing movie where I'm entertained start to finish

They've just failed to captivate using original material, that's why it confuses me when they deviate so far from the source. If something works, use it. I don't care if they change it and make it their own, just make sure it actually fucking works lol.

The overall story behind the film was fine.
They just did a shit job telling and showing it. Put in a lot of useless stuff and left out some things they could have put in.

Saw this a couple nights ago, and after reading the shit reviews I pretty much knew what to expect that that point (I set the bar low).

...and it was pretty much what everyone said it was, average at best. Nothing special. It wasn't horrible (could have been worse) but it had a LOT of shit just crammed in and it was all over the place.

Plus, i couldn't help but laugh at how Batman and Superman end their feud....YOUR MOMS NAME IS MARTHA TOO?!?!
