the show is loosely based off the books , in the books she finds out in the end of the 1st book and the 2nd book she comes to accept him for what he is because she realizes the system does fail, and she randomly knocks on a door to canvas an area and get stabbed in the gut,
also laguerta dies in the first book, dexters brother brian doesnt die, dexter gets high and fucks a 13 year old girl oddly enough the 13 year old girl wants to be eaten alive , O and the recent dude with the bull mask is also in the books and its revealed dexters dark passenger is an actual living thing, a dark spirt that posses people and pushes them to murder, and these dark passengers are being hunted by people who worship bulls hence the bull mask but if the season will go in that direction i dont know, to kill a dark passanger you need to kill the host there living in
all kinds of crazy shit happens
but i got bored with the books because the author makes the ending so obvious with foreshadowing and clues that dexter just doesn't pick up on , its embarrassing on his part also cody and astor become killers and dexter teaches them
o but the best part about the books is st dokes lives, but he gets kidnaped by the skinner " the latino dude who skinned people alive in the show few season back" but the dude in the book is more like a shaver, he cuts off every part of your body thats protrudes until there is only this meat potato sack left, he cuts off arms legs penis, nose lips eyebros etc.. and dokes got his legs arms and tongue cut off, so now he walks around with two hooks and two peg legs and a voice device like steven hawking, but dokes voice box thing just has some pre recorded messages, and dexter trolls him all the time
