I wouldn't call it people being stupid. Empathy I believe has a lot to do with it, some people just cant or refuse to understand Abby's pain.

One of my daughters says that Joel was not written correctly and that game 1 Joel would have never been so careless.

I would dare say that part 2 is better then one. But that's just my opinion.

I honestly hated playing as Abby for so much of her playtime. But I don't see how a human wouldn't be able to empathize with her at the end, even if what she did was extremely wrong. Like at the end I wasn't thinking "ok she had a valid reason" I was thinking "her reasons were flawed and wrong, but I understand how she got there". Pretty top notch IMO.

Although I did hate how they handled things between Dina and Ellie at the end.

Fuck it time to replay 1 and 2.
