Yet he did, so apparently you can. Chris could have pressed charges, but he declined to do so. Like I said in my edit, some people lose their shit when it comes to their significant others. While I don't think there's ever an excuse to hit a fucking comedian for doing their job, you can't be completely surprised or think "omg, this man is a piece of shit" because he slapped a dude for talking shit about his wife's serious medical condition.
