alien and the conjuring cant be compared its not the same type of horror

but as a whole alien is far better

conjuring franchise is fine

if u like conjuring try sinister the first is great, the second is ok, i hope they do a third eventually

babadook is great

didnt like midsommar, the witch and hereditary, there some wtf moments but overall for me they missed the mark

Oh yea alien as a whole was def a great movie but I wouldn't put it anywhere near scariest. I think what really made conjuring great is its based on true story or at least the possibility of it. The fake outdated unrealistic scifi doesn't do it for me. I am pretty sure the "THING" was way more SCARIER If we going to compare

Sinister was pretty solid. Definitely one of the scarier movies of the last decade.



The Thing is obviously another classic great scary movie.

Alien used a lot of horror similar to Jaws. The first time you see the shark in Jaws is a top 10 scary moment in cinema history imo because of the anticipation and build up of not seeing the shark for most of the movie. Alien did the same thing which made the few scenes with the Xenomorph that much scarier.


And lol at saying the Conjuring was realistic. Shit is as possible as Star Wars.

If you going to compare back in the day scary to current scary you are not even close. Conjuring definitely has some Hollywood elements in it. But chairs moving and doors slamming shut, noises etc are very realistic. Also I think they did a great job of depicting the visions of hauntings and possessions. I had a room mate who had similar signs. Police found him in the river later that year. I can tell you stories of some shit that I've seen with my eyes so when I've seen that movie it was realistic enough for me.

And you out here talking about an actual sci-fi with maybe like 2-3 mediocre jump scares in the entire movie with cgi so bad that you can't even focus on the scene. Back in the day sure it might of been a decent scare if you were a small kid maybe but to what's out there now it's not even worth mentioning.

The so called scary parts are so predictable and when you look at the cgi and the fact of the impossibility of completely unrelatable fantasy world you simply have to be soy wimp to find such a thing scary. Man just take a look at this

I was only 8 when i watched The Ring, thought that was pretty scary/creepy as fuck . (Original Jap ver)

No one mentionning The Descent (2005), Blair Witch Project 1 (1999) and 3 (2016) ?!

I also think The Babadook is scariing. I think Mama (2013) was also a good one in the same type !

And i liked a lot the small french production Nightshot (2018).

Watched Insidious 4 yesterday and it was decent/good.

thx didnt know they made a fourth insidious i really enjoy this franchise

also it follows is a pretty good horror movie pretty unique
