And I'm not a big fan of Awkwafina but thought she was okay in it. The main guy Simu is very meh too.

Ben Kingsley was fucking amazing. Tony Leung was great too.

Everyone has their own taste obviously. Yours seems to be more on the side of jokes that don't land because they aren't funny and nobody in the theatre laughs at them, excessive vulgar words for no good reason, mediocre acting, bad story, etc. That's okay too

Was expecting more considering the hype built up around it. Maybe its just because I'm not familiar with Shang-Chi outside of this movie, but I didn't think it was all that great.

I don't think you've realized what acting is. This is 95% of actors. The 5% are still themselves, you've just never seen that side of them. Some can be more more dynamic than others. They are still always who they are at their base.

yeah honestly i dont get the hype around shang-chi one of the worst marvels

also i find roles like akwafina annoying and bring 0 value to the whole story

also

this villain is basicly a walking killing machine for thousands of years raised his son to be an unstopable killing machine yet i felt like i was watching a shit comedic version of crouching tiger hidden dragon

Like the guy who has been a merciless killing machine for thousands of years suddenly falls in love because he was defeated and his plan was stopped? And a woman literally defending the lives of everyone she knows fell in love with the man there to kill her entire community? It's so fucking bad.

Also I love how the organization of trained assassins use specifically non-lethal weapons??? Like clearly it was done for on screen effect. "Look at the pretty blue vs red lights fighting" but I mean come on, that's no excuse for such idiotic writing. Earn your cgi with good writing, don't half ass the script because all you care about is the visuals of the final battle.
