Love & monsters was pretty good. (Movie) fantasy, action, sci fi, comedy, whatever.
I just saw a trailer of a movie called Greenland today, also asteroid impact related. Gonna have a look, i like that kind of stuff. Like deep impact etc.
Not really "post" but whatever.
Past year or so i've listened quite a bit on randal carlssons appearances on the jre(joe rogan) podcast as well as his own channel on youtube. interesting stuff.
Society forgets, asteroids are more common to hit the earth than most of us knew. We (humans) have had several setbacks and close to extinctions in the past apparently.
Like the asteroid or several, hitting the ice sheets some 12800 years ago, possibly in greenland but the date of that crater recently found have not yet been verified...anyway, the impacts caused ice sheets up to 2 miles thick over the north american & european continent to melt at a very rapid pace & elevate the sea levels by some 400 feet in what seems two have been 2 gigantic melt pulses. No wonder gigantic flood stories and legends appears in old cultures all over the world... yeah, cool intriguing stuff. Recommend listening!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0Cp7DrvNLQ"The planet would look like the moon, covered in craters if it wasnt for water, erosion, the sea, vegetation on land covering the tracks."
We live in post apocalyptic lands today, we've just recovered to the point of oblivion. Tunguska event 1908 and the small piece of rock almost making it down in russia a few years ago serves as reminders.
In 2019 we had a close flyby only discovered a day or so before passing, named 2019OK.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UogbvS429k8"57 to 130 metres
2019 OK. SONEAR Obs. 2019 OK is a near-Earth asteroid noted for its sudden, surprise discovery on the day before its close flyby in 2019. The object's size is estimated at 57 to 130 metres (187 to 426 ft) across, the closest asteroid of such size discovered in 2019.
"Asteroids larger than approximately 35 meters across can pose a threat to a town or city. However the diameter of most small asteroids is not well determined, as it is usually only estimated based on their brightness and distance, rather than directly measured, e.g. from radar observations."( From a quick google search, think its wikipedia) i know nothing of the math and physics to calculate these things."
Wish they made sequels & different stories/unrelated perspectives of seeking a friend if the end of the world! Not post either but a great movie.
