Thought the same. It had potential for sure. Black Mirror's best episodes have been mostly ones with an "awww fuck" ending, and this was just a "Is that it?" ending. At least for me it was.

S4 was a little lighter (good episode-wise) than previous ones, although one of my favorite episodes of the entire series was the Black Museum one in S4.

Man, like USS Callister, that episode was so close to being great, but they fucked it up at the end. I did enjoy this one and would watch it again (actually going to do that now, background noise while I game/browse the web), but it followed the ongoing theme for S4 of being visually appealing, well written, engaging and tense and then totally shitting the bed with a boring and anticlimactic end that could be seen from a mile away.

Archangel was obvious where it was going from the second it started and it was just fucking boring.
Hang the DJ was just boring as hell. I had a couple of theories, and while I was close, I wasn't exactly right with how it ended. Still, it was just boring and I didn't care about anything that happened, just wanted it to end.
Metalhead seems to be one that people liked, but I just wanted the robots to kill them the whole time. The whole thing was so stupid.
Crocodile was the other one I thought was okay and maybe worth watching a second time. Again though, the ending was anticlimactic and it bummed me out.

It was weird in the sense that the villain of the episode takes all the punishment and the protagonists all have happily ever after. Usually it ends with a big plot twist that leaves no party happy...except for a few episodes like San Junipero.

Shutup and Dance is probably the best episode imo. The twist at the end was pretty great.

As an experiment it's a fun and interesting ride. As a Black Mirror episode, it's kind of shallow and tedious.

Overall I'd say it's decent due to its originality, effort and variety of endings, which range from black comedy and trollish silliness, to sad tragedies and mindfucks. It makes up for the bland story and serves as a fun special episode to get us ready for the next season.

While it's definitely not among the best episodes of the series, imo it's still worth a watch.

Disappointed with this one actually, thought it was gonna be much better.
