I'm almost through season 1. There are some great jokes in there ... but they seem a little few and far between. I feel like I bust out laughing about once per episode, which is honestly not that great.

At first, I was really taken with the concept of "true crime parody humor". But as I went it kinda wore me. Their main schtick seems to be making statements in a serious dramatic tone, but then using the word "dicks" a lot. I'm actually kind of tired of hearing the word "dicks" used 3 times in the same sentence. I feel like If I keep going in the show it's going to keep happening and compound my current level of annoyance.

The story of the crime itself holds minor interest, it just loses a lot of gravity because it isn't true. Half the appeal of true crime stuff is to listen to the different interviews and find who's lying and sort of "play along" with the process of unraveling it. That aspect of this is totally absent because it's all actors.

The only char is actually fun to listen to is the history teacher. When I saw him I was SURE that he was the stoner kid from the beginning of Super Troopers. I'm shocked it's not him, they look so much alike.

weird ending to S1 ... watched the first few minutes of S2 but don't want to get sucked down another rabbit hole that will leave me unsatisfied.

Season 2 is honestly less comedy and more true crime style

Season 2 has an actual ending. My wife felt the same way after the first season.

I loved the mimmicking of making a murderer during those interviews. It was well done.
