Didn't watch the trailer, but I've heard of it, and this was the vibe I got as well.
I'll give it a watch, but me or anyone disliking this has nothing to do with it not being "flashy". Just because something is obscure, doesn't mean it's good.
Comments like "Might be too lowkey if you are gruntled by hollywood machine" make it difficult to even watch this though... a good movie is a good movie regardless of where it comes from. Hollywood produces plenty of entertaining films, and they also produce loads of shit, just like everywhere else.
Well I like hollywood movies too! It's just that i like also movies elsewhere. I got angry by those first two comments "literally no one wants to watch this" and got a gist that it was the case for him and maybe the voucher.
Oslo, 31. August isn't obscure at all, maybe to americans? it has 16k imdb votes and it won nordic council award (best film of the year from sweden, denmark, norway, iceland or finland)! Quite big and acclaimed i would say.
It's also on The 21st Century's Most Acclaimed Films list
https://www.icheckmovies.com/lists/the%2021st%20centurys%20most%20acclaimed%20films/and spot 116 on icheckmovies users favourite movies
https://www.icheckmovies.com/lists/icheckmovies%20-%20most%20favorite/clearly not a random obscure movie
