Game is great and probably one of my all time favorites. The only person who would perform as a great Gerald would be Mads Mikkelsen.
Just hope that it won't suck. Would prefer a good movie with a decent budget. Don't know if they can create an authentic world with the money most shows have. The last thing I want to see are some cheap ass special effects.

Witcher 3 is what got me back into video games, didn't think it was gonna be as good as it was, excited for the show. I should probably start reading the books

Damn you scared me, I thought Mikkelsen was actually cast because of you. That guy is the fucking worst, I really hope he is no where near the project.

Whut? I fucking love him, i think he's a great actor. Would fit this role perfectly. Take valhalla rising for example, it almost has the look and feel of a witcher world and mikkelsen was the perfect cast for it.

I agree, incredible immersive. Sometimes when i heard the wind blowing through some cracks of an old house i checked if my window was open, just to realize that it's the game.

I'm glad you guys enjoyed it so much, and I'm not knocking anyone for their opinions, I just thought it was a pretty good game at best. The tedious combat mechanics just bored the fuck out of me. It wasn't by any stretch a bad game, it is in fact a good game, but I'll never understand people who claim it as one of the best ever, because it just wasn't anywhere near the top for me. Maybe I should replay it at some point and see if my initial critique was too harsh.

Fair point, should try some mods. Although i liked the combat it only scaled well in the first few hours, then you get overpowered. There are some interesting mods that give a good amount of depth to the mechanics. So you are forced to take a more strategical approach to things. Managing oils, spells, potions, toxic meter etc. Have you played the addons? Maybe it's worth checking it out aggain to play the additional content.

Nope, never did play those. I'll add it to my list and when school goes on break here pretty soon, I'll play through the extra content and see if that makes a difference. Some games really do go above and beyond for their DLCs, and that's always something that makes me pretty happy. I'm not a big fan of mods tbh, and regardless of whether or not they can add a lot to the game, I refuse to let my opinions of a game be changed based on mods that were made by people who had nothing to do with the creation of the game. Just like I can't credit Skyrim with having any difficultly to it because some awesome mods were made that did add that level I usually enjoy, and they also added some pretty challenging missions, but the actual game didn't have anything challenging in it that I can remember. Even playing on master or legendary was pretty easy unless you purposefully picked a super weak fuck around class, just to see if you could do it. I enjoyed Skyrim, but that aspect of it was one of the things that hurt it the most, and it seems like each one of the Elder Scrolls game has gotten a little bit worse since it plateaued back in 2002.

The Addons are incredible and add a ton of interesting content, so you might enjoy them if you already liked the base game.
Yeah, not a huge fan of mods myself, even if done right they feel artificial and always leave a bad taste. Just wanted to point them out since you mentioned the combat system and the lack of depth to it.

How can you not root for Mikkelsen playing Gerald ^^
