Honestly 12 monkeys is a perfectly mediocre show. I watched season 1 and that's how I feel. It's not cheesy/bad/silly enough to be a fun guilty pleasure like supernatural is. Its not a great show either. It's like lukewarm water. If you have nothing else to do while waiting for the new season of your main shows you probably won't hate yourself for watching it.

I feel like this is as honest of a review as anyone is going to give on Jsp lol. I'll check it out after I catch up on Better Call Saul and the Leftovers.

Thanks.

I generally look past bad acting unless it is like horrendous, same with camerawork. The only thing I can't forgive is bad sound design. It is one of the easiest aspect of tv/film to do (at least to an average level) and also the most distracting to me.

Someone less forgiving with acting than me might have a different opinion on the show.

I honestly can't tell the difference between bad and average acting because I usually just automatically/subconsciously compensate by emersing myself into a show/movie enough that I can believe the characters. Obviously I can still recognize exceptional acting (good and bad).

e: the sound design of the show is fairly good is basically what I am getting at.

Metacritic is usually more accurate for TV shows than Rotten Tomatoes.
