Did people actually enjoy the animated series? I might have just been too old for it, I knew a couple of kids in the 8-13 range that enjoyed it, but I think everyone I knew who was older that started watching, thought it was too kiddy.

Books are always a good call, but that's not exactly a good way to go about getting someone brand new to something hooked lol. Have them watch the originals, if they love them, set them loose on the books. Unfortunately, all of the non-cannon shit seemed to be wayyyyyyyy better than anything official. Anything bounty hunter or Mandalorian War was awesome too.

Any die hard SW fan would enjoy it, I certainly did. Casual fans will probably find it very mediocre, & thats fair. Was it perfect ? Hardly! There were quite a few pointless filler episodes that were a bit of a snoozefest. However it did have a lot of insight into things they don't go into detail on in the movies or books. Things like General grievous' background & liar. Introducing Ahsoka & giving insight into her relationship with Anakin. Details into what happened to Darth Maul after he was defeated by obi-Wan, plus his return to power. Introducing Darth Mauls brother, savage, & how he was trained first by Dooku then later by Maul. Background into asajj ventress & how she was trained & ultimately betrayed by Dooku. Among other stuff including a multitude of badass lightsaber duels

So, a bunch of irrelevant stuff that has no bearing whatsoever on anything that happened in the movies?

I watched a few of the duels out of curiosity, and you'd have to be pretty damn young to consider any of them badass... Perhaps I missed the good ones, but it just has a combined feeling of equal parts clunkiness and cheesiness

It's all relevant, canon storylines. Like I stated , if you're a die-hard SW some of the material is pretty good. If not, again, it's pretty mediocre.

The animation is pretty kiddish though, especially if you're used to quality stuff.
