Dunkirk.

Looking at the choices OP made for the poll, I'm surprised War for the Planet of the Apes wasn't listed. I'm looking forward to watching the end of the trilogy.

Doesn't the new avatar come out in 2017? I would pick that if it was on the list. Out of the ones on this poll I picked guardians of the galaxy 2 and also can't wait for logan, alien, and spiderman

Insane how popular star wars.... It is pretty dam good, but still highly overrated.

the best movies will be:
-Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2
-Spiderman Homecoming
-Logan
Good movies will be:
-Star Wars Episode 8 (like any other star wars movie probably)

Hopefully live up to my expectations:
-Alien covenant

Most looking forward to GOTG2, spidey and alien.

Insane star wars has 8 votes. Wtf lol

Justice League is going to be awful. I've lost all faith in Zack Snyder. The furious franchise has never interested me, but the trailer for it set records in views. Logan looks good but I'm skeptical. Gotg2 will be the best movie of 2017, but i have high hopes for star wars 8. Wonder Woman will be okay. Spiderman will be good. No interest in bladerunner, alien, or Dunkirk.

Are you surprised that Furious set records for views? Those movies always make loads of money, it's the same formula Michael Bay uses. Keep giving the people the same fucking thing over and fucking over, as long as it's got explosions, sleek cars, and an exceedingly unrealistic concept, the people will love you for it.

How do you have no interest in a Christopher Nolan movie? He has done nothing but create well above average movies time and time again. Insomnia is still his only movie I've seen that I didn't love. Every single other movie of his would get at least a 7.5/10 from me. Insomnia wasn't terrible either, I just thought it was kinda boring and I fucking hate Pacino. He forgot how to act somewhere along the line and it's like he's just perpetually yelling and it gets really fucking old after a two hour long movie focused almost entirely around him.

#1 Dunkirk . The trailer doesn't look exciting to me at all, and that makes me so fucking happy. I personally can't stand these trailers that keep showing us every single fucking good scene that's going to be in an otherwise shitty movie. It's also Nolan... he hasn't let me down yet, and I really don't think a war epic is when he's going to shit the bed.

#2 GOTG2 . I'm praying that just for once a superhero movie can refrain from taking a step back with it's second movie. The only franchise in recent memory where the second movie was better than the first, was Nolan's Dark Knight in the Batman Trilogy.

#3 Blade Runner 2049 - This director is coming out red hot. He's absolutely killed it with his last few movies, and I'm hoping he'll continue that streak. This movie looks like it has a lot of promise, I'm fairly excited for it.

#4 Alien- It's Ridley Scott. He's let me down massively the last few times I've let myself get hyped up for one of his movies. Robin Hood and Exodus were both pretty fucking bad. A lot of people loved Prometheus, but that was another movie I just couldn't get in to. 20 minutes into the movie I wanted every single person on that ship to die.... I kept hoping Fassbender (who was the best character imo and he was still annoying) would just murder them all. I haven't watched the Martian yet, I've heard it was good, but it's hard to get him a lot of credit when it was already a critically acclaimed book. The positive aspect is the screenplay for the new Alien movie is the man who did Skyfall, The Last Samurai, and Gladiator. So, paired with that, it's got some real potential to it.

#5 Logan. This is when my list starts going down, and quick. Here we have another director I have zero faith in and a movie that looks promising, but that will probably fall flat.

#6 Starwars Episode 8- Episode 7 was okay at best and Rouge One was on par or maybe even a little worse. Didn't care about a single character, the entire thing was predictable and some of the cheesy as fuck lines made me want to walk out of the theater. Specifically, Forest Whitaker and the Vader dialogue scene.... both of those scenes looked as though they were written and directed by a 5 year old with down syndrome.

I will consider watching Spider-Man & The Justice League at home for free, even though they both look fucking terrible. I wish they'd just just fucking stop with the Spider-Man movies already. Batman v Superman, Superman, and everything related to the Flash right now is just fucking awful... I can't see how combining those elements could possibly make for a good movie, but wtf, I guess I'll try.

Wonder-Woman and The Fate of the Furious I will be avoiding like the fucking plague lol.

As far as Dunkirk goes I'm not interested in seeing a ww2 movie. I think saving private Ryan was absolutely flawless and that whole genre just feels done now. Nolan hasn't thrilled me since the dark knight, and that was all Ledger.

I agree with your dislike for those 2 rogue one scenes, but the entire 3rd act of that movie was the best star wars has ever done. I think it was better than episode 7, which i thought was just okay.

I liked the direction they took with Rouge One, but like I said, I didn't care about any of them. I knew they would die from the beginning of the movie and left with a feeling of, welp, they died, at least it was kind of a cool concept. There was some good things, It's still just pretty much a toss-up for me between this and 7, and I was pretty disappointed by both. I was more so disappointed by Rouge because a few people who's opinion I highly respect when it comes to film, spoke as though it was the best thing Star Wars had ever done, and as if it was the best movie of the entire year. I just wasn't all that impressed with the majority of the movie, was sorely disappointed with a lot of the acting, and it was upsetting that I felt nothing for any of the characters when they met their inevitable demise.

Saving Private Ryan was absolutely fantastic, but there's always room to build on genres. You could have thought the mobster movie genre was done after the Godfather, Goodfellas, and Casino, but then along comes the Fucking Departed and boom, you're sucked right back in lol.
