2001 is a milestone, I agree on that, but it is also very slow paced and not everyones cup of tea.
I wouldn't reccomend it to everyone but if you are interestend in movie history there is no way around this movie.

Loving the recent Star Trek movies.

Yeah I've seen them all and liked them a lot too.

I don't know how anyone could not like it. My friend said it was too slow for him but after a lot of nagging he finally gave it another try and liked it despite its pace.

^yeah i think everyone should watch it at least even if some might not appreciate it nowadays

I never recommend it to my actual friends as I fear my opinion of them will change if they watch it and say it's shit.
