I was the right age for the books thinking about it

I like how they changed philosopher to sorcerer for you american retards also :)

Why call American people retards just because a book publisher thought it would sell better with a name change?

small minds always judge hastily.

here in germany they change alot of movie titels just to get a broader audience.

never read the books, no intention of doing it.
but I can still enjoy the movies, even bought the bluray collection ^^

"Sorceror" sounds exciting, "philosopher" sounds boring, and nobody in America knows what a philosopher is. Famous title changes to take account of the incredible ignorance of the average American include "Licence Revoked" which became "Licence to Kill" when over 70% of those polled didn't what "Revoked" means, and "The Madness of King George III", which had to drop the "III" because it was realised that Americans would be uninterested in the film since they'd obviously missed the first two films of the trilogy.

Idk how people think they are bad movies.

I'm not a big fan but a few of them are pretty good films. The last one has like a 96% on RT iirc.

Think it's worth it? Thought the last couple parts were quite weak relatively
You're right they are pretty good at best but based on excellent books so bad

When you consider the budget, actors, source material they could have been amazing

Very few books, and even less video games, are carried through well to the big screen. It's a general acceptance that much of the content, and some very important content is left out.

I'm not saying that's a good thing, but that's just the way it is.

The only way to prevent that, is to become a director and do it yourself.

Comparatively, I think the HP movies carried the magic into the theaters quite well, and were an overall win for a book-to-movie series despite leaving out important content.
