The first thing you need to do is grow up, and eliminate the idea that males can't enjoy romance movies. There's nothing wrong with liking something.

sorry that you didn't read my opening post where i started this topic with actually liking a romantic movie... It's not me that needs growing up but it's you that needs a brain.

what's the difference between romance movie for dudes vs for girls?

my observation is that in general men are less likely to enjoy romantic movies, at least less so than women do, especially when the audience the movie targets is solely women and when you get a sappy lovestory that has been told ad nausaeum with just different people and a different background, between quite boring to outright cringeworthy if that is not your thing. I made this topic to find a middleground for those that follow this trend.

I enjoy a good romance from time to time but it's a thin line where the movie is enjoyable or cheesy as fuck. Movies I liked:

About Time
The Notebook
Drive
Eternal Sunshine on a spotless mind
Harold and Maude
Anomalisa
Lunchbox
Slumdog Millionaire
The Graduate
Leaving Las Vegas
When Harry Met Sally
Perks of Being a Wallflower
Life is Beautiful
Brokeback Mountain
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
Titanic
500 Days of Summer
Obvious Child
Scott Pilgrim
Lost in Translation
Mr. Nobody
The Wind Rises (Probably most Ghibli movies have a theme going where the plot is about love/relationship between two people, just like most animated Disney movies)
Amelie
Lolita

Your attitude towards the genre makes you appear like a weak human being that is afraid of being disliked by your taste in films.

You seem squeamish about asking for romantic suggestions being afraid that your going to get some sort of backlash from the forum for like romantic movies.
